On Safari in South Africa
The Beauty of Africa
Whatever your idea of Africa may be, there are no words to describe the experience. At every moment, all your senses are awakened and I was fortunate to experience it as well as capture it with my camera. This gallery represents a sampling of what I photographed during my stay in Sabi Sands Game Reserve in South Africa. Known for its exceptionally high concentration of animal and bird life, including the Big 5 Game (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino). Sabi Sands sits on the outskirts of Krueger National Park.
Throughout the week I enjoyed observing:
The animals were well habituated to the vehicle allowing me “front row seat” access to see and photograph them. All images in this gallery are shot with a 105mm lens so you know just how close. The images along the right sidebar are some snapshots of me during the five days. And for you coffee lovers, that’s me having my Starbucks - BUSH STYLE - morning cup of java!
Aside from the wildlife, the landscape is so majestic and serene. The synergy in this land exemplifies the circle of life. The extremes in color and light are truly remarkable! From the morning fog lifting to a beautiful blue sky that transcends into the most brilliant of sunsets you can imagine, only to start once again the next day. The pictures are just a glimpse of such beauty.
Email me if you would like to join me on an Africa photo safari summer 2013 (Africa’s winter) and experience this amazing land for yourself!
