On a very rainy weekend in Texas (which are typically sunny), I am enjoying the memory of my trip to an iconic rainy location, London. During my visit a few years ago, I was graced with four beautiful days of sunshine in a city often blanketed by clouds. How different everything I saw must look on a cloudy day instead of a sunny day. I took this great opportunity to jump on board one of the double deck tour buses to do the typical tourist trek. If you're ever in London, definitely do this and sit on the upper deck. The views are amazing and the city looks quite different from that vantage point. One of my favorite moments during the ride was looking back at Westminster Abby as I crossed the Thames River.
Here is the capture.
Looking back at Big Ben and the Clock Tower of Parliment, you also think you're looking back in time. Most people that view this print think it's from the 70s and times past. The vintage Mercedes and traditional London cabs really help. However, the Mini Cooper provides the date stamp to know which decade. It's at times like these that I'm grateful to what comes into the frame. You can plan all you want and control as much as possible, but the images that are the strongest are those that just happen, as in life.
Here's a link to more images I captured during a moment in London.
